It was great to spend time today with the California Faculty Associaton California Faculty Association and local faculty members from San José State University visiting the Capitol. As a member of the Senate Education Committee, I get to see up close the great work they are doing.

Today my Senate colleagues and I passed a Holocaust Remembrance Resolution on the Senate floor. With our world in such a fragile place, we must remember the lessons of the Holocaust and stand together for peace, compassion and understanding.

Yesterday we celebrated the San Andreas Regional Center at their 27th legislative luncheon. We discussed vital bills like my SB 483 to ban prone restraint in all CA schools. It’s past time we stop that barbaric, life-threatening restraint and ensure safety for all students.
