Right now, our laws allow employers who exploit child workers to get away with weak fines, even when a child dies as a result.

To stop child labor violations, we need stronger penalties. It's why I introduced a bill that will do this, and I’m glad Acting Secretary Julie Su agrees.

The people of Maui have been through hell and back. It's the federal government's responsibility to give them all the funding they need to recover. We now need additional aid.
