Yesterday was Canada’s National Day of Remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge on Easter Monday, 1917. This painting by Cdn War Artist, Richard Jack, portrays some of the unique artillery techniques which allowed the ridge to be captured that day by Cdns, where others had failed.

Today, on Vimy Ridge Day, we remember and honor the valor and sacrifice of the Canadians who fought at Vimy Ridge, along with all those who served during the First World War, to protect and uphold the ideals of the peace and freedoms that we value and enjoy today.
