I condemn all attacks on UN personnel and reiterate my urgent appeal for an immediate humanitarian

Civilians in #Gaza are being starved and killed, and we are prevented from helping them.
 
This is Gaza today, even after 7 months of horrors.

'Every day we are displaced. Every hour we are displaced.'

Tens of thousands of people in Rafah, in southern Gaza, are being forced to flee for safety.

Despite obstacles, the UN continues working to provide assistance to those in need.

Rafah: a city of children.

Hundreds of thousands of them are sick, living with disabilities, malnourished or traumatized.

The children of Gaza need a ceasefire NOW.

An assault on Rafah would be a strategic mistake, a political calamity & a humanitarian nightmare.

I appeal to all those with influence over Israel to do everything in their power to help avert even more tragedy.

A full military incursion into Rafah will plunge the crisis into unprecedented levels of humanitarian need. A ceasefire is urgently needed for the sake of humanity. #Gaza
