1/ Last night, after a busy day of performing Jinaza prayer and accepting heads of governments who offered their condolences to Iran’s leader; Ayatollah Khamenei paid a visit to late Raisi’s family. Raisi’s in-law, Duke of Mashhad, Ayatollah Alamolhoda was present, too.

Qalibaf & Jalili's names quickly entered the conversation as potential successors to Raisi. Very few, if any, even considered Mokhber. Khamenei's comments today may change that.

To run, though, he needs to resign first. Khamenei would then appoint a caretaker president.

Some of the info here (sourced to #Iran analysts) lacks credibility; I doubt very much that McGurk discussed the state of Israeli politics with ABK or Iravani.
