The problem? The work of women amateur filmmakers is often hidden or obscured in film archives.
The solution? Check out our NEW archive toolkit with specific advice on how to make these women more visible!

Nice to see my colleagues on the Women in Focus project nominated for this award.
Shout out to Melanie Williams Paul Frith and the EAFA team for all their work!
My younger, poorer, unemployed & working class self used to dream of having my book on the shelves of Waterstones Edinburgh West End
Today I found one!
(I mean, I thought it would be an award-winning fiction book and not an academic tome… but still a win!)
A big thank you to Women in Focus Keith M. Johnston EAFA for the continued support over the past few years. Very proud to have been part of such a great project and look forward to hearing more from the team as they continue this fantastic work in my absence!
Thank you Zoë Viney Burgess Keith M. Johnston for a rewarding (albeit brief) research trip to Winchester. After working our way through 140+ film cans this morning, it's now time to dig a little deeper into the work of the women filmmakers we've discovered Women in Focus
Our busy summer continues.
With #DWFTH6 over, two of the project team ( Paul Frith & Keith M. Johnston ) are off to Winchester to discuss a new amateur collection with Zoë Viney Burgess & colleagues - and maybe uncover some more women filmmakers?!
Watch this space!
Just booked tickets to see Brian Butterfield in Manchester The Stoller Hall this Oct. I've been informed that I'll receive an 'E-ticket' 2 weeks prior to the event. Is this like a luncheon voucher for some class-A drugs?
Is it Friday already?
That means our #DWFTH6 panel is today!
3.15-4.45pm, Fulton B (and online)
