In Guatemala this week, I was pleased to see humanitarian programs supporting refugees and vulnerable migrants through Population, Refugees, and Migration Bureau partnership with 🇬🇹, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and IOM - UN Migration 🇺🇳. PRM has provided more than $117 million in humanitarian assistance for Guatemala since 2019.
Happy to meet a second time this week with my friend @refugees High Commissioner Filippo Grandi. We discussed situations in Burma, the Middle East, Sudan, Ukraine, and beyond, and Population, Refugees, and Migration Bureau and UNHCR collaboration in the face of growing humanitarian needs.
Grateful for the opportunity to thank Secretary Antony Blinken for the extraordinary support which the US continues to give to refugees and displaced people, and to UNHCR. I assured him of our commitment to implementing the Los Angeles Declaration on migration and protection in the Americas.
