Ok. So show me the stats? How many unlocked for each year of your cohorts are still Band 3-4-5 Prison Officers after 2 years and actually still working in a prison on the landings ? Or is that FOI telling me lies?

Nat let’s be honest here . They may be in “operational “ roles in HQ or on “project” work , but the majority do not stay on the landings as a Prison Officer. You know it and I know it. That’s my point ! Sign up to be a Prison Officer but leave that role after just 2 years.

It’s a shame that after two years as Prison Officers 70% of the graduates leave for pastures new. Says it all doesn’t it if the job is that perilous you have had enough after just 2 years!

We routinely send Prison Officers into harms way to face lethal edged weapons when dealing with prisoners under the age of 18 with …..…… a polo shirt.
Soon someone will receive catastrophic injuries. The age of the offender does not reduce the threat or excuse the violence.

Prison Officers have human rights as well. The right not to be violently assaulted at work and the right to carry protective equipment that deters assaults and protects all in our care . Age is no excuse. End the violence and protect staff at work POA
