A friend working in hockey as a physio also faced similar “banter”. They’ve since left the profession despite clearly being very good at it; working with professional football & rugby clubs at one point. Call this rubbish out if you hear or see it please.

Sorry to see @jamessordillo go. The team have had some huge highs & flown the flag well for Prem teams outside of London. On the occasions I’ve spoken with James I found him to be an insightful & positive influence for hockey. Demanding of course too! Hope to see you back soon.

Friends of mine umpiring internarional hockey have had threats, condemnation of their performance and vile comments on their appearance via DM and tagging them in content. This is not isolated to rugby or football and I hope similar action is taken if it happens again in hockey.

Great fun to be part of this. Turned up to give Keely | FHumpires 🏑🇨🇦🌏 her NPUA bobble hat and ended up helping with the classroom session and then shadowing some talented young g umpires. Great to see this collaboration between Cambridge Talent Academy & Keely!

The lack of respect shown to Drummond, Welten and van Geffen is stunning. Three brilliant athletes, top leaders and good people. Deserved a lot better & to retire on their terms. Van As best pray there are no injuries.

Think Sean is a great coach and Ireland have done well generally. The disparity in quality between the Spanish qualifier and the Indian one was significant and a different draw may well have seen Ireland head to Paris. A big shame but high hopes for both Sean & the team.

Great experience umpiring a game in Scotland this evening. Up here for work so a World Masters Hockey friend got me a game. To umpire ESM Hockey Club v Grange Hockey was very cool. My Dad played Grange 1s & two of my oldest friends, Krista & Greg, also played 1s there. Special moment.

Very proud to have been involved in this. Thanks to Andy Reed for inviting us at Sporting Equals to be part of this and my colleagues for trusting me to lead this project. This is a big chance to make meaningful changes for the sport & physical activity sector.
