Th 6th grade Orchestra, Band and Chorus performed tonight in the Spring Concert under the direction of Ms. Yedwab, Mrs. Finnegan and Mr. Vasic.

Students in Ms. Giambruno and Mrs. Barbara’s classes launched their argument writing unit. Students researched and debated topics such as Fort Nite vs Minecraft, physical vs ebooks and Chick-fil-A vs McDonalds

Students in Mr. Koster and Mrs. Delaney’s 7th grade Spanish classes created holiday cards for law enforcement officers to spread cheer and show their appreciation. The cards will be distributed to various precincts throughout New York State through the Cards for Cops program.

Ms. Bono’s Citizenship Club’s held the first student of the month breakfast of the year. Parents and staff gathered to recognize students who go above and beyond each and every day!

Mrs. Kalinoglu’s Student Council held their first “Twisted Thursday” today. They sold pretzels to raise money for Childhood Cancer.

HS Research Advisor John Dominguez brought his Intro to Research cohort together this past summer. They shared their personal mission statement with each other and participated in activities to build camaraderie.

Mrs. Czachor, Mrs. Kiernan, Ms. Ruccia and Ms. Sweeney helped the 6th graders kick off the school year at the Middle School Bound program. Students spent the day making new friends, participating in team building activities and getting to know the Middle School!

Mrs. Czachor’s 6th grade scientists test if the mass of a marble affects the distance it will make a cup travel.

The PHS physics department invited US Army Captain Adam O’Reilly to share his experience as a Chinook Helicopter Pilot to physics and engineering students. He explain the physics involved with operating the helicopter and discussed the Apache helicopter as well.

The Pride was alive today at the Brian Moore Activity Center. The PFT came out with their clubs. The PFT also raffled off baskets for scholarships. A reminder of what a terrific district Plainedge is. Come out and support the budget this Tuesday, May 16 in the High School gym.
