The floodings have killed dozens of people in Rio Grande do Sul in last few days and it fills our hearts with great sadness.

In a next few months, Meteopress will install C-band radar near POA to help Defesa Civil RS and CLIMATEMPO in weather warnings!

Sometimes, interpreting jing-jang, mish-mashy Doppler velocity fields can be challenging. In those moments, I prefer to switch to 3D mode, select high elevations, and focus on identifying the shear patterns. And if nothing else, it tends to be simply beautiful.

One of the most significant weather situations that our radar at Hochficht caught last year, was the supercell that merged with the bow echo. The system was then classified as a derecho, with a length of almost 800 km.
