2024 may be the 50th anniversary of ABBA winning , but it's also 40 years since Germany was represented by Mary Roos singing 'Aufrecht Geh'n'.

She only came 13th, with 34 votes, which is still better than the UK generally does these days...

Two markings stand out on this gallon flagon, the motto SIT DEUS NOBIS CUN (sic) QUID CONTRA NOS (If God be for us who can be against us?) surrounding a crown with three feathers on the lid, and the cannon inscribed on the side, where the trail looks like a pair of legs.
