It's not just Peaters, although they do that routinely. It's also behind the 'women need carbs' idea (women need *energy*). I think it's commonly conflated in the literature as well, because signals of low carb metabolism can look like signals of low energy in high carb.

It's a total disconnect. When your health drastically improves in multiple measurable ways, and someone tells you it's unhealthy because of some speculative long term risk, how is that going to land?
