IMO it's definitely time for what teachers call 'ungrading' to hit music reviews. (IIRC Resident Advisor did away with numerical reviews a few years ago...)

If any of us watches the Civil War and feels “neutral,” the problem is us, not the movie. If we’re upset because we want an easy answer or a tidy resolution, and don’t get one, the problem is us, not the movie.

Civil War isn’t trying to be “above the political fray.” The film asks political questions that are deeper and more pointed than what this reviewer from LA Times imagines it should be exploring. The movie IS the political fray, but the fray is loud, traumatic, and personal.

I’m pretty proud of this one. Wouldn’t it be like SO weird if larger presences in this space brought me on board to help take their productions to the next level? 😫
