Wee bit progress… I 3d printed a fret press caul from #thingiverse which worked a treat 👌 stainless frets and plyboo back plate 👌💪

So I’ve got some shit lying about - body, abandoned student project as full of worm holes, plyboo top, bit too small but arm carve sorted that, neck was gonna be a neck thru 5 string bass neck but exploded on the router table… emg pup kicking about… gonna be a hot mess 👌😂

Hmmm, maybe it’s time to do a copy… I mean homage… 🤔😂😂

My 1st acoustic instrument and my 1st try at a scarfed headstock… Baritone + (21” scale) uke… body made from ancient whisky barrel staves, mahogany neck, maple fretboard, rosewood bridge with brass saddle and nut 👌

Neck glued on 👌 despite taking PPE seriously my apprentice was nae help 🤷🏻‍♂️ she cute tho 😂

Needed something thin for a back and top for the uke, remembered years ago I’d planed some whisky barrel staves to 3mm so jointed them up 👌 also cut hunners of staves into slices so glued them back together and sliced them the other way for the sides 👍👌

Frets in 👌 love doing these wee 4 string fretboards, so much quicker than a guitar… onto body design next 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️
