This you Marco Rubio?

β€œFor years to come, there are many people on the right...that are going to be having to explain and justify how they fell into this trap of supporting Donald Trump because this is not going to end well.”

Nigel Farage playing the victim again & for the second time in a week demanding an apology from the BBC. Farage should man up. He bottled it & ran away from standing in the UK election but still wants all the media attention.

Two former Tory PMs: Boris Johnson: who won the 2019 election & Liz Truss: who won the Tory leadership contest in 2022 have both said they support the re-election of Trump. Will they stand with him now he has been found guilty on 34 counts? And will Sunak dare to say anything?

Sad to see WigtownBookFestival defer to corporate greenwashers Baillie Gifford. This is the sort of comment such corporates want; buying cover & legitimacy while making unethical investments. Yes the cultural sector faces challenges; but we have to talk abt ethics & values.

Kirsty Wark can call Trump's rhetoric 'inflammatory language'; but BBC anchors cannot call equally vile rhetoric from Trump apologist Nigel Farage 'inflammatory language' without getting into trouble & having to apologise. Funny that. BBC Newsnight

continues its tradition of constantly platforming Nigel Farage. He is leader of a pseudo-political party which is a private company he owns 53% of the shares in. And he is not standing in this election & said the US matters more. But BBC Question Time can't stop themselves.

Tory & Labour talk abt 'fiscal rules' mask the long-term decline of the UK economy & rising public debt over the past 27 years. The UK economic model is bust & has been since 2008 & the bankers crash. Neither Lab or Tories want to address such economic fundamentals. HT

Jeremy Hunt is claiming that Labour will increase VAT. FACT CHECK. Since VAT was introduced in 1973 it is Conservative Governments which have increased VAT from 8% in 1979 to 17.5% in 1991 & 20% in 2011. While Labour have cut VAT.

Rishi Sunak back on his chopper as his chosen means of travel. He flew back to London by helicopter after praising train travel during a campaign trip to Devon. He took a Β£2,500 chopper ride instead of a Β£55 train. And he even gets a wee stool to aid him climbing onboard!

This is a difficult decision by Edinburgh but is the right one. Recognise it is v difficult for some in the cultural sector given lack of govt support. But we should not aid greenwashing, corporates with investments in fossil fuels & question corporate capture of public spaces.

Rishi Sunak has a rare & uncomfortable encounter with a member of the public. Asks him a question abt the constant parties & lawbreaking in Downing Street under Boris Johnson for which Sunak got fined.

Asks: 'How can anyone trust you or the party after things like this?'

Rishi Sunak doing his best Ed Davey impersonation as the two of them go head to head in the Clown of the Election comp. It could go to the wire!

As Tice & Farage throw their unsubstantiated smears around the statement behind them should read: 'Reform Needs Reform':
1. They are not a democratic party;
2. Have no members;
3. Or proper policy making;
4. Are a private company;
5. Owned 53% by Farage & 33% by Tice.

A Tory former Cabinet minister says that the party strategy is to prepare for defeat & they have as their best option a de facto 200 seat strategy to try to prevent complete annihilation. All by 'love-bombing' & throwing bribes at pensioners.

With all due respect Allister Heath this is a totally bonkers, deranged & inaccurate take. Starmer's Labour Party might be many things but it is not in any eventuality planning on the below. In the Daily Telegraph: where else?
