I support the today’s section 706 Report, which updates our broadband benchmark to better align with consumer expectations. More work is required, however, to ensure availability of advanced telecommunications capabilities, including ensuring ACP is funded going forward.

Alerting the public to a missing or endangered person is vital to ensuring their safe recovery. But our nation's patchwork of alerts has allowed people to fall through the gaps. Today's proposed rulemaking will help close those gaps and establish one unified alert system.

When the phone in your pocket can talk to a satellite, you have a lifeline for help no matter where you are in the country—and perhaps one day, the potential to make dead zones a relic of our digital past. The rules weren’t built for this type for technology. That changes today.

Generally, providers may choose to charge whatever price they believe the market will bear. But to keep that market robust and equitable, consumers must have the ability to make informed choices. By adopting the all-in rule today, we are ensuring that they do.
