Kunal Kemmu's directorial debut #MadgaonExpress fills the void of young, madcap comedies in Hindi. The leads Divyendu, Pratik Gandhi and Avinash Tiwary seem to be having a ball & Chhaya Kadam as Kanchan Kombdi is a riot. It also reminds us why we need more films set in Goa.

With stellar sound, production design & past-to-present swaps, #ManjummelBoys is worth all the hype and every penny spent. The rousing second half reminded me of Bharathan's #Malootty . The thematic relevance and the use of Kamal Haasan's 'Kanmani Anbodu' stands out.

#AnweshippinKandethum is a slow-burn, well-made police procedural set in the '80s & '90s. There's some stellar writing on display and its earnest leading man (Tovino Thomas) is supported ably by a seasoned supporting cast. That said, I'd have preferred it as a series of 8-10 episodes.
