MRBMs for Germany I can understand (Kalinigrad is pretty close). But for France, it seems to me that it makes more sense to emphasize airborne missiles in terms of flexibility and cost/benefit. But yes, there is a debate ongoing in defence circles and I'm keeping an open mind

Last night, #Russia has launched 53 missiles and 47 attack UAVs at #Ukraine , attempting to strike on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

As the map of trajectories of these missiles and UAVs shows, nowhere in Ukraine is safe from Russian attacks.

Russia launched a barrage of missiles and drones at Ukraine tonight. Ukraine intercepted 35 missiles out of 53. The rest, 18 missiles, hit targets in Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhya. It is impossible to win any war with air defense only. Russian bombers still enjoy impunity.

The immediate tangible effect is that Ukraine will be able to use HIMARS for targets across the border. Ukraine has been using Bohdana and other non-US supplied artillery to strike into Russia, but they often had to push those howitzers closer to the front line to hit deeper

Czech President Petr Pavel made the the statement that the Czech Republic found 500,000 pieces of 155mm artillery shells and another 300,000 pieces of 122mm shells which can be delivered within weeks to Ukraine. He is now asking for the funding.
