Important progress for research and students in #Budget2024 . 27% increase to tri-council, $825M to grad students, including raising federal doc fellowships to $40,000 (max).
We need to see cont’d investment in R&D in collaboration with private sector spend to ⬆️ quality of life.

Pleased to be a witness once more at the HoC standing committee on research and science. Spoke about the need to broaden tri-council funding, reduce admin red-tape, and build in more equitable funding for grad students and post-docs. Ontario Tech has a lot to be proud of!

Today I was pleased to join MPP Dixon & MPP Natalia Kusendova-Bashta to welcome Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council to Queen's Park to talk about how nuclear is helping to treat cancers & other diseases.
