I ran for college council twice with the intent of creating a more humane environment for doctors to thrive in. We aren't there yet. I hope my work on the BoT emphasises that looking after the public is intertwined with looking after anaesthetists.

Creating Specialty Doctors would allow us to retain many of the anaesthetists currently outside of training, into permanent, stable careers.

I cannot encourage this enough. I politely ask people to take my email off their distribution list, and when they (usually) say no I just filter them to the archive or bin. I haven't got an IT service update or list of F1 rota gaps in 4 years.
