#dbnstudentsfirst Memorial Day ceremonies are being held at all three of our main high schools this week. We had an excellent and touching ceremony at Dearborn High School on Wednesday.

#dbnstudentsfirst I was in Lansing yesterday with my fellow colleague superintendents as we were advocating for students relative to the school budget. We met with the Governor, Rep. Farhat, Rep Byrnes, and Rep. Weiss.

A survey conducted last winter showed that parents, staff and students overall have a positive view of the district. For all the questions, those responding 'agreed' or 'strongly agreed' the district was meeting that objective.

#dbnstudentsfirst This was my last meeting as president of the Michigan association of Superintendents and School Administrators as my term runs out June 30th. Our meetings were at the capitol building in Lansing with several legislators advocating for students and school funding

#dbnstudentsfirst I had a great dinner meeting with Abe Ahmad a Fordson Graduate and former SAAC member. He is currently attending Georgetown working on his Master’s degree and was very appreciative of all the College credits that he attained as a Dearborn student.

#dbnstudentsfirst Congratulations to Aya Moughni on her accomplishments as a student in the Dearborn Public Schools. I wish you all the best at the University of Michigan next year. It has been a pleasure to have you on the SSAC.

#dbnstudentsfirst It was a great night as students and teachers were recognized at the 39th annual Superintendent’s honor night. We heard many touching comments from students regarding the positive impact that they experienced from teachers and staff.
