So many abuse stories start like this I have noticed. 'He was wonderful until we had the baby' 'Things were great until I quit my job' 'He supported my career before we married'. All the time. These abusive men are purposeful about choosing their moments.

At no point in Super Size Me did Morgan Spurlock disclose his alcoholism, and much of the liver damage that the film attributed to McDonald's was likely the result of alcohol abuse. He also admitted to cheating on his wife, settled a harassment lawsuit, and was accused of rape.

Our member (masked) was at a hospital outpatient clinic today and got talking to a nurse about clean air and portable HEPA. Nurse: 'You can clean viruses out of the air so simply? Why haven't we got them everywhere?'. Why indeed.

Except when you are hurt and they’re nowhere to be found.

I wrote this for Metro for Women's Aid about the message it sends out when the BBC announce a Wimbledon pundit who last year admitted assaulting his girlfriend. We will never see a reduction in domestic abuse while it is swept under the carpet like this.

Well this is damning.
They knew that children would be damaged by Covid. Over 100,000 children now suffering with CONFIRMED Long Covid. Many more will be under the radar. Yet We do nothing.

It’s deeply disingenuous for Starmer to portray the two-child limit as “ideal world policies”, as if tackling child poverty is a utopian concept impossible to achieve.

A moderate wealth tax would immediately feed and clothe deprived children. You just have to choose to do it.

1 in 5 voters will have faced domestic abuse.

As we prepare for a general election, we need bold commitments on domestic abuse from all parties.

The next PM must lead a cross-departmental mission to transform the response to domestic abuse.

The gop controlled senate has passed the bill to reclassify mifepristone as a controlled substance, putting it in the same category as narcotics. It will now go to the governor who is expected to sign it.

This bill goes against FDA recommendations for mifepristone. The gop are

A little boy has been MURDERED. Callously poisoned by the person who is meant to love him, to protect him. A man who had a history of violence & stalking one of your own colleagues. It is EXACTLY this false & careless narrative that puts women & children in danger

NBC: Louisiana Republicans just passed a bill to criminalize possession of abortion medication, reclassifying it as ‘controlled dangerous substances.’ Hundreds of doctors oppose it but Republicans are moving forward anyway

I’m not saying “be pessimistic” but please stop assuming that victims will automatically get support if they do all the right things, have the right evidence, etc. because time after time, we’ve seen that is not what happens.

We need to stop the narrative that abusers prey on weak people. Abusers prey on all people. They work to provide a false sense of safety so the other person relaxes & trusts them. They then work to exchange said persons reality for their abuse. Anyone can be vulnerable to that.
