I think we, in the private sector who believe in #responsiblebusiness should call this out. It is not acceptable for any company operating in the #UK to treat their employees like this (I know there are loopholes for operating at sea, but that doesn't make it right).

I think the UK approach of doing lots of covert taxes and bans, while claiming that Net Zero is costless, is going to backfire, making us poorer and more resentful of carbon reduction than necessary.

A carbon tax would be much more efficient and ultimately, I think, more robust.
