Do you have any old electronics you need to recycle? I'll be reporting live from Lenox Square beginning at 9am for our e-recycling event. I'd love you see you! AND you're keeping those electronics out of the landfills! 11alive.com/article/news/c…

We hit 86 degrees in Atlanta today. That's the hottest day of the year so far! Cooler air moving in for the weekend. Sunday will only be in the low 60s.

Clouds remain in place this afternoon. Rain moves into our far NW counties after 4 or 5pm, then toward the metro area between 7 am 8pm.

Wake low developing behind the heavier rain. This is causing winds up to 40mph north and west of the city. These strong winds will move eastward behind the main area of rain.

I'm glad the SPC shifts that storm risk. Most areas north of I-20 no longer have a severe weather threat tonight. The risk for severe storms is low south of I-20. Still thinking the main risks for severe storms will be in central and south Georgia tonight.

The storms along the Gulf Coast are 'robbing us' of energy -- WHICH IS GOOD! Risk of strong storms is overall very, very very low. Rain and a few embedded storms will move in later this evening. Most widespread rain will be south of I-20.

It’s always risky for a meteorologist to show up at a golf tournament in the rain! But I was glad to deliver an improving forecast for the SBTF Golf Invitational this AM at The River Club. We even had a ball drop from a helicopter before the players hit the course!

Long, but fun day covering the partial solar eclipse from Tellus Museum today. One last hit at 6:15 and I’m headed home. Nicole Hartford ⚡️ has the weather duties for 10 & 11pm!

Just stepped out of the observatory at @TellusMuseum to check out the crowds waiting to look through the telescope. Many others are hanging out on the grassy areas viewing through eclipse glasses.

The cloud forecast is looking better for today’s partial solar eclipse! This is the telescope at Tellus Museum in Cartersville. I’m live at noon with coverage throughout the day. Make sure you have certified eclipse glasses if you are looking directly at the sun.
