That's why Mercedes is engaged in a union busting campaign in Alabama despite claiming to be 'neutral.'

That’s why Mercedes workers need a union.

Corrupt real estate developers are gentrifying neighborhoods and forcing working families out of the homes and apartments, only to replace them with fancy condominiums and hotels that only the very rich can afford.

We need affordable housing for all.

No job is more important and more difficult than teaching our nation’s children.

And yet, the starting pay for teachers in almost 40% of our school districts is less than $40K annually.

Let me be clear: No public school teacher in America should make less than $60K a year.

In California and across the country, we are in the midst of a massive housing crisis. Landlords should not be allowed to raise rents to whatever they want, whenever they want.

Last year, Mercedes made $15.6 billion in profits, spent $8.1 billion on stock buybacks & dividends & gave its CEO an 80% raise.

It would take 2 years for a Mercedes worker in Alabama to earn what a Mercedes executive makes in 1 week. That's why they're voting to form a union.

The UAW will never support the mass arrest or intimidation of those exercising their right to protest, strike, or speak out against injustice.

It is outrageous that while Dartmouth has an endowment of $7.9 billion, their graduate workers are struggling to get by. I stand in solidarity with 800 workers of GOLD-UE striking for a living wage and decent benefits.

Some of us have been out of school for a while and may have forgotten our American history.

Protesting injustice and expressing our opinions is part of our American tradition and what makes this, in fact, a free country. That’s what the Constitution is all about.

This May Day, the trade union movement is the strongest it has been in decades. From auto workers in the South & Midwest, to baristas at Starbucks, to nurses at large hospitals, workers are sick of corporate greed & winning union elections & record contracts. The tide is turning.
