Our response to the Governor’s May Revision budget proposal:

It was great meeting with California Governor Gavin Newsom to discuss our CA Legislative Jewish Caucus priorities. The Governor has been a strong ally in the fight against antisemitism and a key partner in our work to protect all vulnerable communities targeted by hate.

It was fun to show Ethan around the Capitol last week and share the work we are doing for folks in the Valley and across CA. He was so excited to meet Adam Schiff and Dolores Huerta, who he said is a “living legend.” So amazing to watch this little guy grow up!

As the son of a nurse, I was so proud to stand with the amazing nurses of UNAC/UHCP 😷 to discuss our bill to support frontline healthcare workers. We’re so grateful for everything these healthcare heroes do to keep our community healthy and safe!

Proud to join the Budget Subcommittee on Accountability & Oversight to push state agencies & local governments to cut red tape and tackle our homelessness crisis with greater urgency. Grateful to Speaker Robert Rivas & Assemblymember Avelino Valencia for their focus & leadership on this critical issue.

This week, our office joined our Assembly Fellow Camryn and the rest of this years Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellows cohort to discuss working in politics and government. We are so proud of Camryn and the rest of her colleagues for the amazing work these young leaders are doing for our state!

The Jewish Caucus released the following statement regarding the recent violence and failure of leadership at UCLA:

Amid surging antisemitism, it was deeply moving to host Holocaust survivors in the Capitol for #YomHashoah . A powerful reminder of how hateful rhetoric can lead to deadly violence, the resilience of the Jewish people & why we must speak out against antisemitism & all bigotry.

I’m proud to join my staff in the Valley and in Sacramento to recognize #DenimDay . The clothes we wear are never a substitute for consent. We stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence today and everyday.

Honored to have received the 2024 Changemaker Award at EWG’s Earth Day Dinner last week. I’m grateful for their partnership in the fight to protect our kids from harmful and toxic chemicals in our food, air, and water.

Tonight, millions of Jews will come together with friends and family for the 1st night of Passover. We reflect on our ancestors’ freedom from slavery & celebrate liberation. Even amid a difficult year for our community and others, may we seek to uplift all peoples. Chag sameach!

On #EarthDay , we’re reminded of how lucky we are to call this beautiful planet our home. It’s also a good reminder that we need to protect it for generations to come. Especially at this moment, CA must lead in fighting climate change and protecting our environment.

I am so thankful for everyone who took part in the Third Annual Valley Day of Service last Sunday. Together with more than 50 community groups, we made a real impact!
