The solitary gannet hung around all day - at tea-time some terns turned up and they were all diving in view of the Islay Beach Cottage windows. Any idea what kind of terns they would have been David Dinsley (Struggling to work it out from Collins guidebook) ?

Gr8 2C 1st Gannet of the year in the bay this morning. This was a visitor from Ailsa Craig snapped in 2021. Not many birds about in wintry weather but also saw 2 Eider, 1 GN Diver, a huge Black Backed Gull, 2 Oystercatcher, 4 Ringed Plover. No Cuckoo here yet
