The pile on of Sen Fatima Payman about her 'genocide' comments is a bit ironic. In 1948, Israeli army murdered thousands of Palestinians & stole land from Palestinians. Israel has been the criminal & the usurper since 1948. Good on Sen Payman to remind us of Palestinian history.

Greens force Labor to drop legislation tagged onto vehicles emissions rules to get it through Senate. This is a taste of the next Parl, Labor in minority govt, relying on Greens & Indies to pass any legislation. Bring it on!

2. Govt shd buy some empty or under utilised office buildings in cities, convert them to accommodation. Bathrooms & toilets would be major addition, plus kitchenette. We need to treat the housing crisis as a real crisis, a bit like wartime. It's time to think outside the square.

I just caught end of Qld 7News, piece on 'Myopia Epidemic'. Myopia is near sightedness (or shortsightedness). It is very common. Nearly all the claims by optometrists on program were clinically incorrect. The piece was clearly to drum up business for them & spectacle retailers.

I have a feeling that AU voters want to take back some of our democracy that has been stolen by the big political parties. We want more direct say in what happens in our government. That's many more indies, a minority 'coalition' (not LNP!) govt. Let's try it next year!

Labor PM announces more gas fields will open and gas will be more widely used up to 2050 to achieve net zero emissions . I think he's just signed his own death warrant at the coming election. Greens are delighted.
