Cypripedium ‘Bernd’ is a hybrid between Cypripedium macranthos and Cypripedium segawai. They are commonly called 'Slipper Orchids'.
The flower is usually raspberry pink with darker veins and a white ring near the hoof opening.

Glorious Primula japonica, or candelabra primula, are putting on a fantastic display around Aberglasney at the moment. They are a must see if you plan to visit this week 💖✨
They especially add such vibrancy to the Jubilee Woods and help to bring a range of heights and textures.

Camassia leichtlinii are looking magnificent in the Stream Garden 🌞✨

These striking plants look fantastic grown in long grass areas and meadows. Large drifts of them can make a dramatic impact, adding colour, height and interest to a space.

The draping racemes of the early flowering Wisteria, which you’ll find on the old cowshed building down at the bottom of the gardens, have a delicate sweet scent that adds an additional layer of intrigue to this area.

Here's a combination of Wisteria sinensis alba & Actinidia kolomikta (variegated-leaf hardy kiwi) in the Upper Walled Garden.
The Wisteria Sinensis is coming into full bloom but the Wisteria arch, alongside the sunken garden, hasn't started flowering just yet.

Something we always look forward to in mid-spring at Aberglasney is the arrival of glorious Rhododendron flowers in our Asiatic Garden and Bishop Rudd’s Walk ⛩

They look fantastic contrasted against their shiny lush green foliage, and of course provide a heavenly sweet scent.

The Upper Walled Garden is really quite something special this time of year 🌷

The tulip displays have been wonderful as they have been protected from the horrible weather we have been having. They are now joined by Camassia. The two combine beautifully.
